Exactly, but Cayman is cheaper and more affordable and closer in size to the classic 911s I love so dearly. It's just the mid engine and lack of rear seats that bothers me.

Having driven a Cayman (albeit the prior generation), the mid-engined balance was one of it's defining features. I have never driven a car that turns in like that. No understeer, no oversteer (unless you really look for it). It is a true drivers car. I would likely take a Cayman GTS over any 991 save for the GT3. Also, the 991 is inching closer to mid-engined as it is. As far as the rear seats go, calling them seats is a cruel joke. I know people always use the same stupid line "they only work for people with no legs", but in this case, its more or less accurate.

I don't like how the 991 is closer to mid-engine even if the engine was moved only a few millimeters. But would you daily a GTS over a regular Carrera, both with options?? I'm used to rear weight bias in the older generations and it's my favorite thing about the 911 because it's so weird, like me! And I love looking back and seeing two impractical seats like in the 911 and 944 currently at my house. I can actually fit in the back of the '74 and not complain about it! The 911 is just what I grew up with and what I'm used to; the Cayman is weird to me.

I would 100% daily the GTS over a base Carrerra. No question. The 991 has become so large, and realistically, the rear weight bias it currently has is nothing like that of an old 911. The Cayman is the more "pure" sportscar at this point. I also think it looks better.

To a degree. Whatever you call it, it looks great. I honestly think it has more presence on the road than the Carrera does. Every time I see one I am amazed how much it stands out against the other cars around it. I also love the way the rear spoiler is integrated into the taillights.

That is cool, I agree, it does have a ducktail spoiler as well and that is a quintessential piece that I want in any Porsche. I don't see many Caymans over here in Michigan; Usually just 911s and Boxtsers(Excluding all the Cayennes, though the Macan is making it's presence known). A Cayman is rare to me. The taillights are very cool as well.

I don't see them particularly often either. Far more 911s. Which is arguably another reason to choose the Cayman. I will say however, that a 991 with the ducktail would make the choice substantially more difficult.

True, but you can only get the ducktail from the factory if you get the sport design package, the front of which I'm not a fan of, So I guess I'd have to go with the Cayman. The other thing that bothers me is the fact that I can't see the engine in a Cayman; arguably that is the same in the 991, but at least part of it is visible. I like seeing my engine and that is important to me.

That is true, a visible engine would be nice. There were aftermarket clear engine covers for the prior generation. With a little effort, they look pretty good.
